Civil Plans Examiner - Must reside in Texas
Employment Type: Part-time, as-needed basis
We are currently seeking a qualified Civil Plans Examiner for a part-time, on-call role to review civil construction plans and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering practices related to site development and infrastructure.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- 2+ years of prior experience reviewing civil construction or site development plans for municipalities required.
Responsibilities:
- Review civil engineering plans, calculations, and supporting documents for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Evaluate site development plans including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, roadway improvements, and erosion control.
- Ensure plans comply with adopted codes, municipal standards, and accepted engineering practices.
- Provide clear and accurate review comments and required corrections to applicants.
- Coordinate with engineers, developers, contractors, and municipal staff to resolve plan review comments.
- Maintain thorough documentation and complete plan review reports in accordance with company and jurisdictional guidelines.
- Utilize VertexPlans software platform for plan review tracking, documentation, and reporting.
- Meet established turnaround times while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $40 – $45 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
- 401k with 5% company match after 90 days of employment.
