QA Engineer / Software Developer (Ruby on Rails) – Remote

Aoka is a third-party municipal services provider serving cities and jurisdictions across Texas. We deliver building inspections, plan reviews, and code consulting through our proprietary software that speeds approvals and prevents construction delays.

We’re seeking a QA Engineer / Software Developer with Ruby on Rails experience to ensure our software is reliable, high-performing, and bug-free. This role combines hands-on QA with coding ability to help build and maintain our platform.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and execute manual and automated test cases for Ruby on Rails applications

• Write and maintain automated test scripts using RSpec, Capybara, or similar tools

• Review code to identify bugs, edge cases, and performance issues

• Validate APIs, background jobs, and database interactions

• Collaborate with developers and product stakeholders to ensure smooth releases

What We’re Looking For:

• 2+ years in QA or software development

• Knowledge of Ruby on Rails and MVC architecture

• Experience with testing frameworks and REST APIs

• Comfortable with Git, CI/CD, and issue tracking tools

Work Schedule:

• Full-time role with flexible hours

• Must be available 4+ hours between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST for collaboration

Compensation:

• $900–$1,000 per month, depending on experience
