About the Role:

Aoka is seeking a skilled Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer to join the VertexPlans development team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in building high-quality, scalable web applications. You will work on a mix of expanding our existing software, squashing bugs, optimizing the current architecture, and independently spearheading the development of brand-new products and features from inception to deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently design, build, and deploy new features and products from start to finish.

  • Maintain and optimize existing Ruby on Rails web applications and backend services/APIs.

  • Continuously work on bettering the existing system architecture, ensuring code quality, and optimizing website performance.

  • Partner closely with designers, product managers, and fellow developers to deliver seamless, user-centric features.

  • Implement secure and reliable third-party integrations, specifically focusing on payment gateways.

  • Write and maintain comprehensive automated tests (both frontend and backend) to ensure long-term stability.

  • Efficiently diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system bugs.

     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of professional full-stack Ruby on Rails web development experience.

  • Strong, deep proficiency in Ruby on Rails.

  • Deep understanding of CSS and responsive design principles.

  • High proficiency with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, Git workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.

     

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Monthly Salary: $1,200 – $3,000 / month (Depending on experience and qualifications)

  • Vacation: Unlimited PTO
