What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute strategies to identify, target, and win contracts with Houston-area local government agencies
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in city and municipal government
- Identify, qualify, and manage new business opportunities while maintaining a robust sales pipeline
- Lead proposal preparation and submission to meet government procurement requirements (RFPs/RFQs)
- Manage contract negotiations and closings, ensuring favorable terms and compliance
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to maintain competitive positioning
- Collaborate with internal teams for smooth contract-to-project transitions
- Provide regular reports on business development activities, forecasts, and KPIs
- Travel locally as needed to meet clients and attend industry events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Marketing, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in sales or business development, preferably in government contracting, construction, engineering, or infrastructure
- Familiarity with local government procurement processes (RFPs/RFQs) is a plus
- Experience supporting or collaborating on proposals or bids is desirable
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proactive attitude with a desire to grow into senior business development responsibilities
