About the Role:

Aoka is looking for an experienced leader to drive company-wide growth by owning two critical functions: business development and talent acquisition. You'll manage the sales and marketing team responsible for winning business across local, state, and federal government clients, while also building and running the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes that will scale our team. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for someone ready to take ownership of Aoka's growth trajectory.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience leading business development and recruiting in a fast-growing startup environment, with a proven record of scaling both revenue and headcount.
  • Demonstrated success scaling an organization from early-adopter stage to early-majority stage.
  • Strong background in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding, including building these processes from scratch and training other leaders to use them.
  • Industry experience in government services, construction, or professional services strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage Aoka's business development and talent acquisition functions.
  • Lead client acquisition efforts, manage the existing sales and marketing team, and personally engage in high-value sales pursuits and relationship-building when needed.
  • Own the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process, working with the internal operations team to source candidates, conduct interviews, and ensure new hires align with Aoka's core values and culture.
  • Partner with department heads to assess hiring needs and support company-wide growth objectives.
  • Develop and refine Aoka's performance evaluation process, which currently needs improvement.
  • Report KPIs to leadership on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $120,000–$150,000 annually, based on experience and leadership capability
